Thompson set a new personal best in the discus throw event at the Mississippi College Mike McMillan Twilight meet last weekend. The freshman uncorked a throw of 41.14m to win the event. That throw was the third best in the conference this year. Thompson also competed in the hammer throw and recorded a mark of 40.52m, to earn a third place finish.
