Illescas claimed a share of eighth-place at Music City Invitational held at the Hermitage Golf Course in Old Hickory, Tenn. The rookie registered his first top-10 finish of his career after shooting 139 five-under par in the 36-hole tournament. The Spanish-born golfer navigated the course to two sub-par rounds, tallying 69 in the first and 70 in the second, for his second and third lowest rounds of the season. He also had nine birdies and 23 pars, while leading the field in par threes with an average score of 2.63. This is Illescas’ first career GSC Freshman of the Week award and the first weekly award for West Georgia of the season.
