Hanakova went 3-1 in singles while featuring at the No. 2 position, as Valdosta State was 2-2 on the week, including a 5-2 upset over fifth-ranked AUM in GSC action. The rookie opened the week against AUM’s Ana Villalvazo, taking a tightly contested match in three sets (6-7(4-7), 6-4, 6-4). She also went three sets in her win over FSC’s Beatriz Costa before notching a straight-set win over Tampa’s Victoria Sanchez. In doubles, alongside Viktoriia Fedorova, Hanakova faced stiff competition going 0-4 from court one. Hanakova is 10-7 in singles this spring and 8-7 in doubles action. This is her first GSC Freshman of the Week award of the season and the seventh for Valdosta State.
