Sides helped Mississippi College tally a pair of wins against Emmanuel (Ga.) in the opening weekend of the season. The junior first baseman posted solid numbers hitting .400 (4-10), slugging 1.100 and had a .462 on-base percentage. Sides also tallied a conference-best seven RBI, three extra base hits including two home runs. His second homer of the season was a grand slam that lifted the Choctaws to a 9-7 win in walk-off fashion in game three of the series.
