Mitchell helped Montevallo start the season strong as the Falcons went 3-0 at the 2023 Houston Winter Invitational at MinuteMaid Park. The redshirt-freshman went 4-for-6 from the plate (.667) and tallied two doubles, five RBI, scored four runs, drew two walks and stole two bases. His standout performance of the weekend was a 2-for-4 day which included three RBI in a 11-10 win over No. 13 Central Missouri.
