Johnson helped UAH to 1-1 record to open the regular season as the Chargers competed in the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic. The sophomore led the Charger offense against a pair of top-six ranked opponents with 39 points, averaging 19.5 per game, while shooting 55.2 percent (16-of-29) from the field. He averaged a team-high 7.5 rebounds per game, pulling down a total of 15 boards, leading UAH in rebounding in both contests. The guard guided the squad to an 83-81 victory over No. 6 Lincoln Memorial with a game-high 25 points. Johnson also finished the week tied for the team lead with three steals over the weekend.
