For the second-consecutive week, Shegog was named the league’s top offensive player after leading Delta State in a 70-31 win over No. 13 Valdosta State on Saturday. The graduate signal caller tossed for 346 yards while completing 26-of-29 pass attempts. Shegog was also potent on the ground, rushing for a team-best 65 yards on nine carries, averaging 7.2 yards per run. Overall, he accounted for 411 of the Statesmen’s 703 yards of total offense, while racking up seven total touchdowns with four by air and three by land. Delta State’s offensive performance marked the first time in 21 yards a team scored 70 points in a GSC-game, while their total yards of offense is now tops in Division II this season for a single-game.
