Wortham opened the season with a solid three-game performance to help West Georgia sweep a series with Kentucky State last weekend. The first baseman was 8-for-12 (.667) at the plate, scored seven runs, drove in five more, and stole two bases. Wortham’s standout game of the weekend was the series finale which was highlighted by a third-inning grand slam as part of a 4-for-5 day at the plate.
