Alford posted a team-high 23 points on 8-for-15 from the floor including 5-of-9 from deep as Mississippi College topped West Georgia, 73-51. The freshman guard also grabbed seven rebounds, which matched her season-high. The Jan. 8 victory was Alford's fifth time this season leading the team in scoring, the most by any Choctaw, and her fourth game with 20 or more points. The freshman guard ranks third in the GSC in three's per game (2.5) and fourth in three-point percentage (40.6). The 22-point win marked the largest margin of victory in the series with the UWG.
