West Florida junior Chandler Blanchet has been named the Gulf South Conference’s Men’s Golfer of the Month. Blanchet had a 69.67 stroke average over six rounds in October, posting four rounds at par or better. He finished 19th at the NCAA DII Preview with a one-under par 215 total after rounds of 67,75, and 73. He ended the month by blistering the field at the Golfweek Invitational, running away with a seven-shot victory after a 66, 70, and 67 gave him a 203 score, good for the third-lowest 54-hole total in UWF history. His 13-under par figure tied the school record. His 18 tournament birdies easily led the 90-player field and he combined to play the par fours and par fives a combined 17-under. As a team, UWF took third at the preview and won the Golfweek Invitational by five shots.
