Mississippi College goalkeeper
Humberto Pelaez (Jr.; Panama City, Panama) was named the Gulf South Conference Men's Soccer Defender of the Week on Tuesday.
Pelaez turned in his sixth shutout of the season against Shorter, allowing just one goal in a match versus Lee, while totaling eight saves on 22 shots-faced. The keeper now has 54-total saves to go along with a 0.88 goals-against average.
The honor marks the fifth time this season, including second in as many weeks, that Pelaez has earned GSC Defender of the Week honors, having previously done it 9/6, 9/20, 10/4 and 10/18.
