Chelanga competed at the Alabama Crimson Classic, winning the race with an 8K time of 23:47.4. His time was over a minute better than the next fastest non-Division I runner and was nearly 27 seconds better than the fastest DI competitor. Chelanga’s performance at the Classic gives him the fastest 8K in the GSC this season by over 30 seconds. He was named the USTFCCCA National Cross Country Runner of the Week on Monday, Oct. 17.
