At the Royals XC Challenge, Smith broke a Lady Flames program record with a 5K time of 17:48.4. She placed sixth in the race and, in the process, helped Lee to a fourth place team finish. Smith’s record time broke this season’s previous 5K best by a GSC runner, which she herself owned, by 30 seconds.
