Union goalkeeper
Kristen Francis (Jr.; Edwardsville, Ill.) was named the Gulf South Conference Women's Soccer Defender of the Week on Tuesday.
Francis tallied 15 saves over two matches between the pipes last week, while guiding Union to a 1-0-1 posting. The keeper had six saves in a shutout versus Alabama Huntsville and nine versus West Alabama in a 2-2 draw. She now has 65 saves in 11 matches in 2016.
The honor marks the second time this season Francis has earned GSC Defender of the Week accolades, including in as many weeks, having previously earned it 10/4.
