Young Harris midfielder
Jaclyn Kernohan (Sr.; Whitby, Ontadio) was named the Gulf South Conference Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Kernohan scored eight goals and assisted three, while helping Young Harris to a 2-1 week, including a 2-0 start to GSC play. She scored the game-tying and game-winning goals in a 17-16 win at then-conference-leader Alabama Huntsville on Saturday. The winning goal came with 19 seconds to play to cap YHC’s eight-goal rally from a 16-9 deficit. She finished with six goals and one assist in the win, her fourth six-goal game of her career. She added two goals and an assist Sunday in YHC’s 20-5 win at Montevallo and assisted one goal last Monday in a 16-5 loss to No. 4 Rollins. Kernohan now has 27 goals for the season, which ranks third on the team and ninth in the GSC. Her 13 assists are the eighth most in the GSC.
