West Georgia outfielder
Garrett Hayes (Sr.; Winston, Ga.) was named the Gulf South Conference Baseball Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Hayes hit .588 over four games last week. He went 4-for-4 with a double and six RBI versus Georgia Southwestern to start the week and finished 6-for-13 with three doubles, a triple, homerun and 11 RBI in a series versus Christian Brothers.
Hayes’ 1.118 slugging percentage for the week is a team-high this season and the 17-total RBI was the most by any UWG player since 1998. He is hitting .374 this season with 10 doubles, three homeruns, a triple and 37 RBI.
