Dalton Moats (Jr.; Kansas City, Mo.) was named the Gulf South Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.
Moats tossed a five-high shutout with 10 strikeouts against GSC foe Shorter last weekend. The outing marked his sixth-straight victory and also the fifth time this season that the hurler has struck out at least nine or more batters in a start.
At 6-2 on the season, Moats is currently sporting a 3.03 ERA with 77 strikeouts in 65.1 innings of work. The honor accounts for the third time this season that he has earned GSC Pitcher of the Week, having previously done it 3/8 and 3/29.
