North Alabama first baseman
Brooklynn Clark (Sr.; Seadrift, Texas) was named the Gulf South Conference Softball Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Clark increased her season batting average to .489, the best in the GSC, after hitting .727 in a three-game series at No. 11 Alabama Huntsville over the weekend. She led the fourth-ranked UNA Lions to a 2-1 series win, as they maintain a two-game lead atop the GSC standings. Clark ripped out eight singles in 11 plate appearances, driving in four runs and scoring twice. She had multiple hits and drove in a run in each of the three games, including a 3-for-3 effort in Game 1 Saturday. Clark’s 68 total hits and .523 on base percentage also lead the GSC.
