Caitlyn Calhoun (Sr.; Hamilton, Ohio) was named the Gulf South Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday. It is her fifth honor of the season and 13
th of her career. She also received the honor Feb. 16, Feb. 23, March 1 and March 22.
Calhoun (19-4) collected three complete-game wins on the week and passed the 500 career strikeouts milestone, striking out 31 in 21 innings of work. She posted a 1.00 ERA and helped the Blazers to a 4-1 week against Georgia Southwestern and Mississippi College. She allowed five runs, three earned, during her three outings, while holding opponents to a .200 batting average. Calhoun leads the GSC in wins (19), complete games (24), shutouts (11), innings pitched (164.0) and strikeouts (171). Her ERA (1.45) and opponent batting average (.203) are the second lowest in the GSC.
