Valdosta State designated hitter
Heather Robinson (Jr.; Valdosta, Ga.) was named the Gulf South Conference Softball Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Robinson hit .625 (5-for-8) in a three-game sweep of West Alabama over the weekend after starting the series with a perfect (5-for-5) doubleheader Saturday. On Saturday, Robinson was 4-for-4 with a home run and a double, driving in three runs and scoring twice in game one. In the night cap, she walked three times and her lone hit was a home run. She drove in two and scored twice. Robinson was 0-for-3 Sunday with a walk. She finished the week with a 1.500 slugging percentage.
