North Alabama pitcher
Hannah Bodenhorn (Fr.; Lebanon, Tenn.) was named the Gulf South Conference Softball Freshman of the Week on Feb. 9.
Bodenhorn went 1-0 on the week and did not allow a run in 13 innings pitched during three appearances for UNA. She started the week on Friday, striking out four and allowing one hit through three innings in UNA’s 12-0 combined shutout of Miles College. On Saturday, Bodenhorn struck out nine and walked one while pitching a six-inning no-hitter in her first collegiate start, an 8-0 win over Tuskegee. She also helped give UNA a chance in Sunday’s loss to Young Harris. After falling behind 5-0 in the third, Bodenhorn took over in the fourth and pitched four scoreless innings of relief, allowing two hits and a walk. She faced 46 batters during the week, holding opponents to a.070 batting average.
