North Alabama infielder Peyton Sockwell (Fr.; Lawrenceburg, Tenn.) was named the Gulf South Conference Baseball Freshman of the Week on Tuesday.
 
Sockwell went 3-for-5 (.600) from the plate with four runs, an RBI and two swiped bags over two contests, both starts at shortstop, last week.
