Valdosta State pitcher Huntyre Elling (Sr.; Sarasota, Fla.) was named the Gulf South Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 2.
 
Elling went 2-0 in her two games pitched for sixth-ranked VSU at the PBC/GSC Southern Showdown. She recorded a complete-game, three-hit shutout Saturday in a 1-0 win over Columbus State. The next day, she entered the game in relief, trailing 4-0, and pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing only one hit and striking out six in an 11-4 win over No. 1 North Georgia, VSU (4-0) will host Flagler for a double header Tuesday, Feb. 2 and then will travel to Clearwater, Fla., this weekend for three games.
