- West Alabama guard Ariel Wilson (Brandon, Miss.) earns her second GSC Player of the Week honor. She also received the honor Jan. 5.
- Wilson recorded her first two double-doubles of the season, averaging 21.5 points and 13 rebounds during the week, along with six assists and one steal. She shot 54 percent from the floor (13-of-24) during the week and 88 percent (14-of-16) from the free throw line.
- She posted 23 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and a steal in her first double-double of the week, a 73-71 loss to North Alabama.
- On Saturday, she led the Tigers past UAH and was just shy of her first career triple-double with 20 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists.
- West Alabama (7-12, 4-11 GSC) is one game out of the top five in the GSC standings. The Tigers will travel to eighth-place Christian Brothers on Thursday for a 5 p.m. CT tipoff and then GSC frontrunner Union on Saturday at 2 p.m.
