- Shorter forward Taylor Adams (Scottsboro, Ala.) earns her third GSC Player of the Week honor. She also received the honor Dec. 15 and Dec. 22.
- Adams averaged a double-double for the week with 21.5 points and 14 rebounds per game, while turning in her eight and ninth double-doubles of the season.
- She posted 22 points, 17 rebounds, three steals and went a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line in Shorter’s 58-46 win over Christian Brothers on Thursday.
- On Saturday, Adams added another double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds in the Hawks’ near upset of No. 16 Union, 56-55. Her potential game-winning shot at the buzzer just missed. She also had a block, steal and assist in the game, while shooting 53 percent from the field.
- For the week, she shot 50 percent from the floor (17-of-34) and 75 percent from the free throw line (9-of-12).
- Adams remains the only GSC player averaging a double-double for the season with 16.1 points and 10.6 rebounds per game.
- Shorter (12-5, 9-3 GSC) is currently tied with West Florida for fourth in the GSC standings. The Hawks travel to Valdosta State on Thursday for a 6 p.m. ET tipoff, and then West Florida on Saturday.
