- Alabama Huntsville guard Dina Saunders (Huntsville, Ala.) earns her first GSC Player of the Week honor.
- Saunders nearly averaged a double-double for the week with an average of 22 points and nine rebounds per game. She also averaged 1.5 steals and 1.5 assists per game.
- She began the week with a double-double against Christian Brothers, scored a career-high 32 points and added 14 rebounds, 11 from the defensive glass. She shot 58 percent from the floor in the win.
- On Saturday, Saunders added 12 points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists in a win at North Alabama.
- For the week, she shot 44 percent from the floor, 40 percent from 3-point range and connected on 89 percent of her free throws (16-of-18).
- UAH’s two wins last week moved the Chargers to 9-6 overall and 6-5 in conference, good for sixth in the GSC standings.
- The Chargers (9-6, 6-5 GSC) host Valdosta State on Thursday and West Florida, currently tied for fourth, on Saturday. Tipoffs are 6:30 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively. Reeves’ 14.1 points per game leads CBU and is seventh in the GSC.
