Devin Schmidt (Sevierville, Tenn.) is the GSC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season and fifth of his career. He also earned the honor earlier this season on Nov. 24.
- Schmidt has scored 30-plus in each of the last three games, including a pair of wins last week for Delta State over and Lee University.
- He dropped 36 points last Monday in an overtime win at Alabama Huntsville to reclaim a tie of first-place in the GSC. He added six rebounds and three assists in the win.
- On Saturday, Schmidt scored 31 in the Statesmen’s win over Lee.
- He averaged 33.5 points, four rebounds, two assists and 1.5 steals per game during the week.
- Schmidt, who has now scored 30 in each of his last three games, has six 3-point games this season and 11 in his career.
