- Shorter forward Taylor Adams (Scottsboro, Ala.) earns her second consecutive GSC Player of the Week honor.
- The junior transfer from Gadsden State Community College led Shorter had two double-doubles during the week and averaged 19.67 points and 8.67 rebounds in three games. She did so while playing only 25.67 points per game.
- Adams’ two double-doubles gives her a GSC-leading six for the season, including three of her last four games.
- She started the week with 18 points, 11 rebounds, four steals and a block in a Monday night loss to West Florida. On Thursday, she shot 71 percent to score 15 points and had three blocks and four steals to go with two rebounds. She capped the week with a career-high 26 points and added 13 rebounds, a block and two steals in a win over North Alabama.
- Adams shot 71 percent in each of her last two games and 67 percent (20-for-30) in the three games combined.
- She also sank 19-of-20 (95 percent) free throw attempts during the week.
- Adams is the only GSC women’s basketball player averaging a double-double this season with 15.9 points and a GSC-leading 11.3 rebounds per game.
- Shorter (7-2, 4-2 GSC) has the week off and will return to Dec. 30 for a 1:30 p.m. ET tip at North Georgia. GSC action will resume Saturday, Jan. 2 with Shorter traveling to West Alabama for a 2 p.m. CT tipoff.
