  • Union guard Jada Smith (Hoover, Ala.) earns her second GSC Freshman of the Week honor. She also won the honor Nov. 17.
  • Smith helped No. 11 Union remain unbeaten with a 2-0 week against Lee and Shorter to open GSC action.
  • She averaged 13.5 points, 3.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game during the week.
  • In the comeback win over previously undefeated Shorter on Thursday, Smith scored 15 points in the final 20 minutes to lead Union’s rally and finished with 20 points, four assists and four rebounds.
  • Union (8-0) will travel to Mississippi College on Thursday and then Delta State University on Saturday for another potential battle between undefeated teams.
