Valdosta State linebacker Kenny Murphy notches his first-ever accolade, spearheading VSU’s defense in the Blazers’ 55-28 GSC-TV home win over West Alabama. The senior registered a game-high 11 tackles, led by a game-best 10 solo stops. The Glennville, Ga. native also performed well in pass coverage, defending one pass and returning an interception 73 yards for a score. Murphy iced the game for Valdosta State as his return capped the game’s scoring with 3:34 left to play.
