Alabama Huntsville defensive specialist Haley Hop (Fr.; Madison, Ala.) was named the Gulf South Conference Volleyball Freshman of the Week on Tuesday.
 
Hop led the UAH defense with 24 total digs on the week. She had 14 against North Alabama and 10 versus Mississippi College. She also had two service aces and an assist on the week.
 
Hop also has a Defensive Player of the Week honor this season, which she earned 9/15.
