Lee University’s Peyton Sliger is the Gulf South Conference Men's Golfer of the Month for September.
Sliger earns LU’s first-ever honor after turning in a solid start to his senior season, posting a 69.0 stroke average in the first five rounds of 2015. The senior opened the season with a fourth-place effort at the Full Moon Invitational in Calera, Ala., thanks to a -2, two-round score of 138 (68-70). The Maryville, Tenn. native capped the month with a career-best showing at the Cougar Invitational in Columbus, Ga. Sliger earned the Tournament’s medalist honor, shooting a three-round score of 207 (-6). He opened with an even-par 71 before closing out with back-to-back -3, 68 rounds.
