Valdosta State midfielder Mallory McDaniel (Fr.; Roswell, Ga.) was named the Gulf South Conference Women's Soccer Freshman of the Week on Tuesday.
 
McDaniel assisted on both Valdosta State goals in a 2-3, overtime loss to No. 17 Saint Leo last week. She totaled 104 minutes over two matches.
