Alabama Huntsville infielder Kaitlyn Bannister (So.; Albertville, Ala.) was named the Gulf South Conference Softball Player of the Week on Tuesday.
 
Bannister went 6-for-16 (.375) with two homeruns, eight RBI and five runs over five games last week. The sophomore closed the weekend clip hitting both homeruns and going 3-for-9 (.333) with five RBI against No. 1 Valdosta State.
