Delta State guard Devin Schmidt (Sevierville, Tenn.) dropped 51 points over two games last week. He scored 27 points with six rebounds, three assists and three steals against Shorter and surpassed 800-career points with a 24-point, eight-rebound night versus Mississippi College. The sophomore now has twelve 15-plus point games, including eight 20-plus point efforts, this season.
 
Last season, Schmidt started all 33 games and averaged 15.1 points-per-game, 6.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists. He also garnered GSC Freshman of the Year, All-GSC First Team and Second Team NABC All-South Region honors.
