West Georgia guard
Alex Abreu (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) scored 45 points with 10 boards, seven helpers, two steals and a block over two games last week, both wins for UWG. He put up 15 points with four boards against Carver and closed the week with a 30-point outburst and six boards, including six assists, against Montevallo.
Abreu, a native of Puerto Rico, started 31 games for Akron in 2011-12. He was named All-MAC Second Team and also earned a spot on the MAC All-Tournament Team that season. He's one of only seven players in Akron history with two, 100-assist seasons.
