BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Delta State guard Keithean Brooks (player) and West Alabama guard/forward Elliot Tulip each earned Gulf South Conference Men’s Basketball Weekly Awards presented by Truist following their performances from Feb. 10-16 of the 2024-25 season.
Player of the Week:
Keithean Brooks, Sr., G, Delta State
Brooks brought home his first GSC Player of the Week honor this season after a strong week that saw him average 26 points, five assists, three rebounds, and three steals in a pair of Delta State wins. The senior began the week with an impressive showing on the road against no. 6 Valdosta State where he dropped 24 points on 82 percent shooting, had four assists, pulled down four boards, and had a steal in the 96-92 victory. He would not stop there, though, as he recorded 28 points on 75 percent shooting, dished out six assists, pulled down two boards, and tied a Delta State career-high in steals with five in a close 89-86 win over West Florida.

Freshman of the Week:
Elliot Tulip, Fr., G/F, West Alabama
Tulip reeled in his second-career GSC Freshman of the Week award after averaging 14.5 points, two rebounds, and an assist in two victories for West Alabama. In a tight 71-68 win over Union, the freshman scored a career-high 21 points, made five of his ten attempts from behind the arc, and had a rebound. He would then follow this up with a solid showing against Christian Brothers where he had eight points, grabbed three rebounds, dished out two assists, and had a steal in the 70-68 win.
