The Gulf South Conference has announced its men’s cross country weekly award winners for races during Sept. 9-15.
Runner of the Week
Sam Wilhelm, Sr., Alabama Huntsville
Wilhelm finished fourth in the Virginia Invitational 8k with a time of 24:07.0, first among all Division II runners in the event. This time ranks fifth all-time in the 8k for Alabama Huntsville and Wilhelm now has the top-five fastest times in UAH history for the event. The senior’s time played a key role in helping UAH to finish third overall in the team competition that included runners from Division I schools.

Freshman of the Week
Dakota Frank, Fr., Alabama Huntsville
Frank earned his second consecutive Freshman of the Week award after finishing with a time of 26:17.1 in the Virginia Invitational 8k, the fastest time by a Division II freshman in the competition. He finished 32nd overall and had the fourth-fastest time amongst freshman runners at the invitational.
