The Gulf South Conference announced its 2024 women's soccer weekly awards following matches from Oct. 28-Nov. 3.

Offensive Player of the Week
Poppy Binding, R-Sr., F, Spring Hill

Binding had an electric week that saw her score three goals, have 13 overall shots, and record an assist to help Spring Hill make its first GSC Championship appearance. The redshirt-senior began the week by registering her second brace of the season with goals in the 45^th and 59^th-minute, respectively, to put the Badgers up 2-1 against UAH. She then came back with an assist in the 48^th-minute and her third goal of the week in the 83^rd-minute, which helped Spring Hill to seal a 4-0 victory over West Alabama.

Other nominees: Emma Beltz, West Florida; Rebekah Jackson, Union; Jocelyn Oballe, Valdosta State; Robyn Moody, Delta State; Morgan Goehring, Montevallo

Defensive Player of the Week
Ava Webster, Jr., D, Delta State

Webster was part of a Lady Statesmen backline that only allowed one goal on the week, and she also helped on the offensive end with a goal of her own. The junior started off with a strong defensive performance in a 2-0 shutout win over AUM that saw her open scoring in the 27^th-minute while making her impact felt defensively as AUM was only able to get two shots on net. This was then followed by Webster playing a part in only allowing one goal against Valdosta State in a 1-1 draw. This is Webster’s first GSC Defensive Player of the Week honor this season.

Other nominees: Lydia Lewis, Valdosta State; Alyssa Goodloe, Union; Avery Sides, Lee

Goalkeeper of the Week
Claire Timberlake, Jr., GK, Valdosta State

Goals were hard to come by against Timberlake as the junior only allowed one of them on the week while posting a clean sheet and making 11 saves on 29 shots faced. Timberlake’s clean sheet came in the first match of the week as she recorded four saves on 11 shots faced in a 2-0 shutout win over Mississippi College, marking the first time Valdosta State soccer had beaten the Lady Choctaws in program history. She proceded to continue her consistent play in net with a seven-save performance while allowing only one goal in a 1-1 draw against Delta State.

Other nominees: Kirsten LaVallee, Union

Freshman of the Week
Maria Rojas, Fr., M, Valdosta State

Rojas secured her second-career GSC Freshman of the Week award following a week that saw her score a goal, including her first-career game winner, and have four shots overall. The freshman came out on the attack in the Blazers’ 2-0 win over Mississippi College as she broke a scoreless draw in the 72^nd-minute with her fifth goal of the season. She then continued her active week with three more shots overall, including one on net, in a 1-1 draw against Delta State.
