GSC Men’s Golf Weekly Awards: Oct. 3

The Gulf South Conference has announced its 2024-25 men’s golf weekly awards for action from Sept. 25-Oct. 1. 
 
Golfer of the Week  
Alexian Rouault, So., Christian Brothers


At the Battle for the Belt, Rouault finished as the highest-placed GSC golfer after tying for 13th-place and registering a 216 even par overall score. The sophomore opened the first round at 78 six-over par before going on a tear over the next two rounds with a round-low 68 four-under par in the second round and a 70 two-under par third round. He also finished with 13 birdies.

Freshman of the Week  
Anniston McIlwain, Fr., Delta State
 
McIlwain put together a stellar outing at the Battle for the Belt, recording an overall score of 219 three-over par with eight birdies. The first round saw McIlwain finish at 75 three-over par proceeded by a second round score of 70 two-under par. Then, in the final round, the rookie put together a 74 two-over par performance to finish in 22nd-place overall and in the top-two for all Statesmen at the event.
