INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA announced the field for the 2023 Division II Men’s Golf Championships, with three teams and three individuals set to represent the Gulf South Conference.

Competing as a team will be defending national champion and the No. 1-seed from the South Region, Lee. GSC tournament champion West Florida, who earned an automatic bid, was tabbed as the region’s three-seed, while No. 7-seed Shorter earned an at-large bid.
The 2023 event will be the third consecutive season at least three GSC teams qualified for the NCAA postseason and the 21st time since 2000.
Representing the league as an individual will be Union’s JJ Zimmer, Mississippi College’s JJ Logue, and Pongbhop Jamornsrianan from Delta State.
The NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship field consists of 80 teams and 32 student-athletes competing as individuals. The event will begin with regional play conducted on May 11-13, with tournaments at four regional sites.
The South Region will be paired with the Southeast, with play held at Grande Oaks Golf Club located in Davie, Fla.
At a minimum, the top three teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the finals, May 22-26 at Avalon Lakes in Warren, Ohio.
The remaining eight team berths will be allocated based on the regions represented in the prior year’s head-to-head medal play portion of the championships, with the maximum number of teams from a given region capped at seven. The finals will be hosted by the Mountain East Conference and Avalon Lakes at The Grand Resort.
