HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the top of the first inning, Justin Ambrosino singled, scoring Brandon Harmon to give West Florida a 1-0 lead.
- The Choctaws made a comeback in the bottom of the first when Hunter Wilson scored on a fielder’s choice and Kyle Smith stole home to put Mississippi College up 2-1.
- But the Argonauts tied the game in the top of the second when Matt Sullivan homered to left field.
- A four-run rally in the top of the fifth put West Florida back in the lead. Harmon scored UWF’s third run of the game on an RBI single by Ladeavon Matthews. Ambrosino smashed a three-run home run to left field, giving UWF a 6-2 edge.
- The Choctaws cut the Argos’ lead in half when Casey Echols doubled down the left field line driving home Hunter Skyes for MC’s third run of the game.
- West Florida added an insurance run when R. Lopez singled to right center scoring Tanner May. Ambrosino scored UWF’s eighth run of the game on a wild pitch.
- Mississippi College loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh, and Austin Warkentin drove in Hunter Bolin to trim UWF’s lead, 8-4. Grant Barber Followed with a two-out triple to left center plating MC’s fifth and sixth runs of the frame.
- May scored his third run of the game on a fielder’s choice in the bottom of the ninth to increase West Florida’s lead 9-6.
NOTABLES
- The Argonauts out-hit the Choctaws 15-9.
- Matt Sullivan’s home run was his third in the past two games for West Florida.
- Justin Ambrosino’s four RBIs were one shy of his game-high. He recorded his 10
th multi-RBI game of the season to finish the season as the team leader

- The three runs Tanner May scored for the Argonauts mark a career high for the freshman.
- MC’s Hunter Wilson extended his hitting streak to 25 games and on base streak to 29 games—the longest of any Choctaw.
- Grant Barber recorded his second career triple and fifth multi-RBI game for the Choctaws.
