Valdosta State Earns 66-41 Win in GSC Quarterfinals
VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Lady Blazers toppled the defending GSC Champions from Delta State in Tuesday’s GSC Quarterfinal, 66-41. First Team All-GSC honoree Madi Mitchell had a game-high 23 points on 71.4% shooting.

After an opening quarter where both teams struggled, VSU pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring DSU 21-9. In the first half, the Lady Blazers held the Lady Statesmen to just 13 points.
NOTABLE
- This is the first time since 2005 that Delta State has not advanced to the semifinals of the conference tournament.
- After not qualifying for last year’s GSC Tournament, Valdosta State will make its first appearance in the semifinals since 2010.
- In her first season, VSU head coach Carley Kuhns has now racked up 20 wins. It's the first time VSU has had 20 wins since the 2011-12 season.
