GSC lands 17 on 2016 D2CCA All-South Region Team

Birmingham, Ala. - The Gulf South Conference landed 17 standouts on the 2016 NCAA Division II Conferene Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-South Region Team on Wednesday.

Of the 17 GSC standouts to make the team, Delta State turned in a league-high five players, including two on the First Team, followed by Alabama Huntsville, with four. West Georgia had three, while West Florida had two and Lee, West Alabama and Valdosta State all had one each named.

Delta State's Tre Hobbs, the 2016 GSC Pitcher of the Year and 2016 NCBWA South Region Pitcher of the Year, garnered more honors in being named the 2016 D2CCA South Region Pitcher of the Year, after going 12-1 with a 3.07 ERA and 65 strikeouts.
