NCBWA tabs 16 GSC standouts as All-South Region

Birmingham, Ala. - The Gulf South Conference landed 16 standouts on the 2016 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-South Region Team on Wednesday.
Of the 16 GSC standouts to make the team, Delta State turned in a league-high four players, including three on the First Team, followed by West Florida, Lee, West Alabama, Alabama Huntsville and West Georgia, which all had two each. Rounding out the list of honorees with one each making the team were Valdosta State and North Alabama.
Delta State's Tre Hobbs, the 2016 GSC Pitcher of the Year, garnered 2016 NCBWA South Region Pitcher of the Year honors after going 12-1 with a 3.07 ERA and 65 strikeouts.
