GSC places nine on D2CCA All-South Region Team
Birmingham, Ala. - Nine student-athletes earned NCAA Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (CCA) All-South Region Team honors on Wednesday.
The Gulf South Conference saw nine student-athletes make the 26-member squad, including four on the First Team and Five on the Second Team.
Mississippi College had a league-high three make this year’s squad. GSC Player of the Year Humberto Pelaez made the First Team along with Ben Roberts, while Jorge Delgado garnered Second Team laurels.
Alabama Huntsville had both a First- and Second Teamer in Hermann Bjornsson and James Narke, respectively, while Lee also placed a standout on the First Team in David Perez, the 2015 GSC Player of the Year.
Three other teams rounded out the list of honorees with a player each making the Second Team in Shorter’s Darwin Lom, West Florida’s Kameron Bethell and West Alabama’s Ashley Phillips.
