VALDOSTA, Ga. – Shorter’s Kalei Kimbrell stuck out the side in the bottom of the seventh with the tying run at second base to earn her third save of the 2015 GSC Softball Tournament and help lead SU to a 3-1 victory versus UAH. The Hawks advance to the title round, needing two wins versus UNA to claim the GSC crown.

KEY MOMENT
After a sixth inning throwing error ended up in deep right-centerfield, Niki Cook and Kendall Johnson combined on a perfect relay home to catcher Paige Rowland to deliver the third out of the inning as UAH’s Abby Roberts tried to score from second base.
QUOTABLE
"This is the toughest conference in the country," said Shorter Head Coach Al Thomas. "Every game comes down to one hit, one run, one out. And we're just blessed to be here."
NOTABLE
· Shorter reaches the title round in its first GSC Tournament appearance.
· Kimbrell picked up saves in all three Shorter wins during the tournament and leads the GSC with seven. She has fanned 11 batters in 9.2 postseason innings pitched.
· Shorter starter Maddie Bray surrendered just one run in 6.0 innings pitched.
· Perri Gilbert went to 2-for-4 after entering the game for the injured Brianna Sullivan in the first inning.
