KEY MOMENT
After surrendering two homers in the third inning, UAH starter Tyler Harrison retired the next 13 batters to allow the Charger offense time to rally for the victory.
QUOTABLE
“Resolve is a great word to describe today. You’re talking about Valdosta State – retiring 13 in a row [to end the game] is huge. Every single one of [Valdosta’s players] swings the bat and has the ability to hit it out of the park. The fact that she got so strong at the end is awesome,” said UAH head coach Les Stuedeman. “We got a lot of contribution up and down the lineup which we had not been getting. That makes me feel good about the next game. And Abby Roberts – first of all, the perfectly executed squeeze, and then the next time up the double off the fence. I’ve been all over her about her RBI production, and she gets two today. I can’t say enough about her, [Tyler], and the whole team.”
