VALDOSTA, Ga. – Kaitlin Moore’s two-out single drove in the winning run as sixth-seeded Delta State eliminated fifth-seeded Union from the 2015 GSC Softball Championship by a score of 1-0.

KEY MOMENT
Just after Union’s Alex Williams threw out the potential winning run at the plate in the eighth inning, Moore delivered the clutch hit to seal the extra inning victory.
 
QUOTABLE
"Every day is a new opportunity," said Delta State Head Coach Casey Bourgoyne-Charles. "Yesterday we didn't perform to the best of our ability and today we performed to our level."
 
NOTABLE
·         A day after surrendering three runs in her first start of the tournament, Shayna Beaver bounced back to toss a complete game shutout, surrendering just four hits.
·         Despite manufacturing just one run in 13 innings, the Lady Statesmen advance to a third game in the championship.
·         Union’s Kelly Robey finished the tournament with just three runs allowed while pitching all 13.2 innings for the Bulldogs.
 
UP NEXT
Delta State advances to their second elimination game of the day at 5:30pm and will face either #1 Valdosta State or #2 Alabama Huntsville. Union concludes their 2015 season.
