KEY MOMENT
Regan Tittle’s two-run homer off the top of the centerfield wall capped a three-run third inning for the Lions.
QUOTABLE
“Hillary (Carpenter) really came out on fire and I think that energized our bats,” said UNA head coach Ashley Cozart. “Everyone just played with a lot of confidence and energy today and it was just a trickled down effect to the rest of the team.”
NOTABLE
Carpenter lowered her GSC-best earned run average to 0.92 with her 11th shutout in 22 starts.
Kassidy Tally picked up her 49th stolen base of the season, second in the GSC.
UNA is searching for its first GSC Tourney title since winning back-to-back crowns in 1986 and 1987.
UP NEXT
UNA advances to face #2 Alabama Huntsville at 3:30pm. Delta State will wait until tomorrow’s 10:00am game versus the loser of Union/Shorter.
